After two very slow starts, the Ravens have started very quickly in this Week 5 game against the Raiders. The Ravens first drive on offense was a five play 75 yard touchdown drive with a 52 yard passing play. The Ravens defensive unit made sure to make a big play on their opening drive as well.

EJ Manual passed short to Jared Cook. Cook ran towards the sideline, but was tackle from behind by Patrick Onwuasor. Onwuasor stripped the ball from Cook, and right into the hands of Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith. Smith recovered the fumble, and ran it all the way back, 47 yards, for a Ravens defensive touchdown.
After the extra point, the Ravens took a 14-0 lead over the Raiders.
Onwuasor continues to make a push to become the full time starter at inside linebacker over Kamalei Correa, and the forced fumble only helped his case.
Jimmy Smith missed a couple days of practice this week, but looked just fine running the fumble back for a touchdown.
The Ravens have really struggled early in games over the last two weeks, and this was exactly the kind of fast start that the team needed. Now they just have to keep it going.
