It took five weeks, but an offensive Raven has finally landed on the PFF ‘Team of the Week’.
In week one, both C.J. Mosley and Brandon Williams received the honor, but against Oakland, Ryan Jensen was the first on offense to crack through the barrier.
C – Ryan Jensen, Baltimore Ravens
PFF Grade: 94.5
Elite Stat: Ryan Jensen allowed no pressures from 26 pass blocking snaps against the Raiders.
You won’t find a much better game from a center in the league this season than this performance from Ryan Jensen. He didn’t allow any pressure all game, but it was his run blocking against a lightweight Oakland defensive front that really stood out, working to the second level and victimizing Raiders linebackers repeatedly.
— Sam Monson
At this point I’ve talked everybody’s ear off about Ryan. He’s strong, he’s somebody who won’t back down, and against the Raiders, he ‘victimized Raiders linebackers repeatedly’ after throwing around the Oakland defensive linemen.
While coaching, growing and learning play the biggest factors in Jensen’s maturation, I also presume playing against Brandon Williams, Michael Pierce and Brent Urban helped. Every day, Jensen lined up face-to-face with one of the biggest and baddest players in the NFL. At that point, it becomes fight or flight, and Jensen isn’t going to back down.
