Two Ravens starters returned to the Owings Mills practice field on Thursday. Inside linebacker C.J. Mosley missed Wednesday’s practice with a thigh injury but was a full participant on Thursday. And center Jeremy Zuttah rejoined his teammates after missing Wednesday for non-injury related reasons.
In other news, Breshad Perriman also returned following a calf issue on Wednesday. Marshal Yanda and Terrell Suggs were absent from practice on Thursday, likely due to a normal, predetermined veteran rest day.
Interior offensive lineman John Urschel has been able to practice this week after missing the first game of the season with a contusion. The Ravens offense is near full strength, running back Kenneth Dixon appears to be the only player who will be out in Week 2.
Outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil continues to sit out following foot surgery in January. Fellow outside backer Za’Darius Smith missed practice for the second consecutive day due to an ankle ailment. If neither of these pass rushers are able to suit up on Sunday, the Ravens will call on rookies Matthew Judon and Kamalei Correa to support starting edge defenders Suggs and Albert McClellan.
As for the opposition, the Browns are relatively healthy, not counting quarterback Robert Griffin III who was placed on injured reserve Monday. Receiver Terrelle Pryor has been a full practice participant this week despite a shoulder injury. Left tackle Joe Thomas missed Wednesday for non-injury reasons and starting right guard has John Greco has been practicing through a back issue.
Za’Darius Smith is the one to monitor on Friday. If he is not able practice in a limited capacity, he is doubtful to play on Sunday. Check back later for the official injury report.
