Breshad Perriman misses practice with “calf issue”

NFL: Cincinnati Bengals at Baltimore Ravens Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman missed practice on Wednesday with a minor calf issue according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

John Harbaugh did not comment on the status of Perriman’s injury according to Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun. Perriman’s status for Sunday against Cleveland is currently unknown and unclear.

While we don’t know how "minor" the injury is,and this injury seems unrelated to prior injures, the concern level is still off the charts. The former first round pick has infamously dealt with continuous injuries, and if this injury proves to be more severe than first reported, the bust label may begin to creep into the picture. Keep in mind that Victor Cruz was said to have a minor calf injury in camp last year, and he didn’t play at all last season. This is obviously a worst case scenario, but something to keep in mind. Perriman, however, does not seem too concerned, tweeting after the news broke:

Perriman finally saw the field for the first time in the regular season against the Bills on Sunday. He only made one catch, but his talent shined through, as it was a spectacular leaping catch on the sideline.

Updates will be added to this post when more information becomes available.
