After missing football for almost two seasons due to career-threatening hip injuries, Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta will return to the field today against the Buffalo Bills.
As NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports, not only will Pitta play, he will start.
#Ravens TE Dennis Pitta (dislocated finger) will not only play but start. It's his first action since a major hip injury in 2104. Very cool.

This is obviously good news for the Ravens and quarterback Joe Flacco. Pitta is the longest tenured receiver Flacco has a connection with as they been teammates since 2010. It might take a little while at first for both to get in the rhythm with one another once again with Pitta being out of football in live games for almost two years, but the trust is there between Flacco and Pitta.
The Ravens needed this good news especially at tight end as Ben Watson is out for the season after tearing his Achilles in week 3 of the preseason against the Detroit Lions. The Ravens are currently three deep at tight end now with Pitta, Crockett Gillmore and Maxx Williams in the fold.
