Earlier in the week, ESPN came out with its own power rankings and listed the Baltimore Ravens as the 15th best team in the NFL entering the 2016 season. Is that too high? Too low? Or just right? Here is what ESPN had to say about the Ravens:
2015 record: 5-11
Preseason ranking: No. 12
The Ravens don't stay down for long, and a home game against the Bills seems like a recipe to start on the right foot. The Ravens haven't missed the playoffs in consecutive seasons since 2004-05.
Before the 2016 preseason started, ESPN listed the Ravens as the 12th best team and after finishing 4-0 in the preseason (ya we know preseason doesn’t mean much) the Ravens somehow dropped. The Ravens did look a bit stronger in some areas compared to 2015 most notably in the pass rush department and the Ravens seem to be stronger at wide receiver than the team has ever been at any point in 21 years.
However, considering where the Ravens finished last season, being ranked 15th isn’t too bad and the Ravens have week 1 tomorrow to prove to the rest of the league that Baltimore is back.
