Bronson Kaufusi reportedly out for year

The injury bug continues to bite at Ravens camp. John Harbaugh said today in his press conference that third round rookie Bronson Kaufusi will likely be out for the year with a broken ankle. Kaufusi was carted off the field at Thursday practice with what looked to some onlookers be a leg injury at the time.

Kaufusi will likely be placed on IR, meaning he won’t count against the 53 man roster. This means that Kapron Lewis-Moore will have an increased shot at making the roster, with Lawrence Guy and Brent Urban now locks.

Kaufusi was drafted in third round out of BYU, despite being projected to be drafted higher. Kaufusi was part of the Ravens mass effort at the draft to get younger at pass rusher. He played defensive end and finished all time in sacks at BYU with 26.5, and also blocked four kicks.

Kaufusi will join an ever increasing list of Ravens’ players with injuries, but hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come.

More details to follow as they become available.
