Unfortunately, the injuries are continuing to rack up in Owings Mills. Baltimore Beatdown’s Kyle P Barber reported that no players on the PUP list returned, and a new Raven suffered an injury today, wide receiver/punt returner Kaelin Clay.
Clay suffered a foot injury in today's practice according to Barber. Clay’s injury really depletes the Ravens returning corps, with Michael Campanaro already injured. Clay struggled in Thursday night’s game, muffing a punt and dropping a pass. Clay already was fighting an uphill battle to make the roster and the injury sure does not help. Keenan Reynolds will now get a chance to show what he can do with no competition. Reynolds has consistently muffed punts and dropped passes as part of what has been a rough transition from quarterback to wide receiver.
John Harbaugh announced today that rookie cornerback Tavon Young suffered a lower hamstring injury. Harbaugh did not give a time table for Young’s return. Young’s roster spot is safe despite the injury. He has been one of the most impressive players in camp. He has been extremely solid in coverage, generating buzz to possibly start in Week 1. The Ravens even used him on special teams on Thursday, as a returner on offense, as well as taking adavantage of his speed on the defensive side of the speical teams. The only thing the injury could hurt is his chances to start in Week 1.
The amount of injures in camp is becoming worrisome. Let's hope that everyone can come back healthy and stay that way.
