Elvis Dumervil Reveals the Details of His Procedure

Not bad news

Ravens linebacker Elvis Dumervil revealed today in a press conference that the mystery procedure keeping him from mandatory minicamp was a foot surgery.

"I feel a lot better and I'm excited to feel healthy again," said Dumervil.

The Ravens twitter account said that this was a lingering issue for Elvis, but no status on for how long it was an issue.

Dumervil had six sacks this past season, a down year by his standards. The past three seasons prior Dumervil racked in 17, 9.5, and 11 respectively. This could mean Dumervil played through injury during the season. However, as Joesph Zucker of Bleacher Report noted, Terrell Suggs was out for the year with an Achilles injury, and teams may have shifted focus onto Dumervil.

The details on the procedure are still limited. It was not said what exactly was the problem with Dumervil's foot. Whatever the injury, Dumervil said he expects to be back by training camp. Therefore, the injury doesn't shape up to be major. Barring the 2010 season, Elvis has not missed an extended period of time. His health in 2016 will be key to the Ravens defensive success.
