The Miami Dolphins are giving outside linebacker Cameron Wake a two year contract extension worth 15 million dollars. Wake is the 34 years old and he is currently recovering from a torn Achilles injury. Does this sound familiar in terms of what Baltimore Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs is going through?
Dolphins are giving Cameron Wake a 2-year, $15 million extension including $10 million fully guaranteed at signing, per source.

Cameron Wake is coming off a torn Achilles, is 34 years old, but Miami wanted to give him two-year extension for what he's done and will do.

Suggs is 33 years old and Wake is currently 34 years old. Suggs is coming off a torn Achilles injury of his own. It is interesting that the Dolphins decided to reward Wake partly for what he has done in the past and what they think he can do in the future. The Ravens gave Suggs a contract extension worth 28.5 million over four years in 2014 to go along with an additional restructure in 2015.
Wake's contract extension could be an argument in Suggs favor if the Ravens ever decided to ask him for a pay cut in the future. Suggs has had a better career than Wake overall as he is a 2011 defensive player of the year winner and a 2003 defensive rookie of the year winner to go along with 106.5 career sacks in the regular season and 12.5 in the postseason. Wake has 70 career sacks.
Suggs will get his chance to be healthy during the 2016 season and if he is the old Suggs, he will be worth every penny.
