Ravens' 2016 season win total set at 8.5 victories by Bovada

Following a mere five wins last season, the oddsmakers have rolled out a rather unusually conservative win-loss number for the Ravens this season.

If you ask any enthusiastic Ravens' fan how they think their team will do this season, many would offer up an optimistic number, a return to the mean after an awful five-win effort last year. Vegas however, would beg to differ. The oddsmakers at Bovada have set the Ravens' over-under at 8.5 wins.

The Ravens have met the ten-win threshold in four of their last six campaigns, but apparently last year's finish has left its mark on the minds of those in Vegas.

Baltimore's over-under is the third-highest in the AFC North. Pittsburgh leads with a projected 10.5 wins, Cincinnati is second with 9.5, and the Cleveland Browns have a league-low 4.5 over-under.

Along with Pittsburgh, Carolina, New England, and Seattle all opened with 10.5 wins, highest in the league.

Even though the Ravens are listed at 8.5 wins, Bovada is betting on the under. The vigorish on the under is -140, while it is +110 for the over. This means that you would have to bet $140 to win $100, while a $100 bet on the over would net you $110
