OFFICIAL: Kelechi Osemele signs contract with Oakland Raiders

The former Raven is now a Raider

Ron Schwane-USA TODAY Sports

The Baltimore Ravens no longer have the best guard tandem in the league, with Kelechi Osemele signing his new contract with the Oakland Raiders.

The contract is quite steep, being $60 million for 5 years. Clearly the Raiders aren't thinking of only using him at guard, the money is top Left Tackle dollars.

This is good news for the Baltimore Ravens, as Ozzie Newsome will most likely be enjoying a 3rd round compensatory pick.

Taking a second round draft pick, winning a Super Bowl, and then receiving a third round pick when he leaves will absolutely be a plus in my book, and you can't ask for much better than that.

Kelechi Osemele has amazing versatility, from playing right tackle during the Ravens 2012 season, and shifting to left guard for the post-season resulting in a Super Bowl. Big KO is also talented enough to be playing left tackle, and that is the big assumption for such a pay raise by the Oakland Raiders.

Although I'm displeased with us unable to keep him, I sure do hope he whoops up on Von Miller, DeMarcus Ware, and Derek Wolfe next season. Show those champs who's boss.
