PFT: Baltimore Ravens expected to let Kelechi Osemele go

The Ravens are reportedly prepping to move on without their instrumental left guard.

With the ink drying on Joe Flacco's brand new contract extension, many thought that the extra funds the deal created would be used to strike a new deal with offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele, who is an unrestricted free agent. Osemele is one of free agency's hottest tickets, and should command around $10 million a year on the open market.

Yet according to Pro Football Talk and a "league source", the Ravens are preparing to walk away and move on without an integral piece of their offensive line.

While the Ravens were initially expected to have to pull off a near miracle to retain the services of the 26-year-old, the chatter turned optimistic after the extension of Joe Flacco, which relieved a huge burden of the Ravens' cap situation. However it seems as if Osemele and the Ravens are just too far off at the bargaining table. It will certainly be interesting to see how the Ravens plan to replace Osemele, as there is no clear next man up in Baltimore.
