In the middle of March through the end of the month, we will take a quick look at some of the key players for the Baltimore Ravens entering the 2016 season from where each key player stands in terms of the Ravens depth chart.
Lorenzo Taliaferro
Taliaferro has been put on injured reserve two years in a row and he is certainly on the hot seat as far as a spot on the opening roster in 2016 is concerned. Taliaferro is the biggest runningback the Ravens have at the moment and he is on, he can be a problem for opposing defenses.
Taliaferro only has 339 rushing yards in his two seasons with the team. Allen already had over 500 yards as a rookie. Taliaferro needs to show a lot the next several months for the Ravens and most importantly stay healthy.
When Taliaferro is healthy, he is a battering ram. He is the type of bruising runner that the Ravens are missing in its rushing attack. The Ravens need a running back who can dish out punishment in short yardage situations.
Too many times over the last three seasons, the Ravens have failed to covert on third and short or fourth and short at critical times. The Ravens organization prides itself on being physical and when the team can't move opponents against their will, it is a problem.
Taliaferro can be that guy, but he needs to stay on the field in order for that to happen. This is a critical year for him.
