March Profile: Ravens WR Kamar Aiken

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

In the middle of March through the end of the month, we will take a quick look at some of the key players for the Baltimore Ravens entering the 2016 season from where each key player stands in terms of the Ravens depth chart.

Kamar Aiken

Aiken, with all of the injuries the Ravens sustained at wide receiver in 2015, certainly made the most of his opportunities especially late in the season. Aiken finished the 2015 season with 75 receptions for 944 yards and five touchdowns which are all career highs. The most impressive thing about those stats is the fact that he produced those numbers with four different quarterbacks ( Joe Flacco, Ryan Mallett, Matt Schaub and Jimmy Clausen) so he has a lot to look forward to in 2016 and the Ravens are certainly happy about that.

However, Aiken right now is a restricted free agent as we speak the 2016 offseason and the Ravens give him a second round tender last week. The second round tender describes how valuable the Ravens organization thinks Aiken is at this point. Aiken is a Raven until another team decides to sign Aiken while giving up a 2016 second round draft pick in the process.

It is very a wise move for the Ravens to keep Aiken considering the fact that the free agent market in 2016 at the wide receiver position doesn't have a lot to offer.

Aiken 2015 Stats:
