Ozzie Newsome: "Webb is a safety. He will start the season at safety."

Is there a GM in the NFL who shoots more straight, unapologetically citing stances than Ozzie Newsome?
In another frank revelation at the NFL Combine Press conference for the Ravens on Wednesday, Newsome announced that Lardarius Webb is a starting safety for the Ravens.
Newsome talked about his cap number and compensation, and said that it compares favorably to other safeties around the league, but "..At that number, he will start at safety."
Ozzie says Webb IS a starting safety going forward. Added that he's actually a very good price compared to what safeties will be getting.

It could still only be a theoretical positioning, as Organized Team Activities, the Draft, and Training Camp will inform the exact depth at that and all positions for the Ravens. Yet, it does draw a line for other safeties on the team, and sets a standard. Kendrick Lewis seems to be the odd man out with this announcement, and the ramifications of that will be seen.
Rest assured that Baltimore Beatdown will bring you the latest as the 2016 Ravens continue to form.
