The Cincinnati Bengals will host the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday in a season finale between AFC North teams that are out of playoff contention at the same time for the first time since 2007. The Bengals will be without two of its best players on Sunday in wide receiver A.J. Green and linebacker Vontaze Burfict.
Green is officially listed as out for Sunday as he is going to miss his sixth consecutive game due to a hamstring injury he suffered in week 11 against the Buffalo Bills. Green wanted to play in week 16 against the Houston Texans but the Bengals coaching staff decided against it and held him out. The Bengals have decided to shut down Green for the remainder of the 2016 season and get him healthy for the 2017 season. In addition, Bengals offensive tackle Cedric Ogbuehi is listed as out with a shoulder injury.
Burfict is listed as doubtful for Sunday against the Ravens due to concussion as well a knee injury. Burfict has been a bit of a thorn on the Ravens offense in his eight meetings against the team registering 47 tackles and one interception. In 16 games against the Bengals defense, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has arguably his worst games against the Bengals defense as he has 16 touchdowns, 20 interceptions, a passer rating of 72.7 and has been sacked 32 times. Not having Burfict out there should help the Ravens offense.
Bengals runningback Jeremy Hill is listed as questionable due to a knee injury and if he can’t go, the team will be very thin at running back as Giovani Bernard is already on injured reserve due to a torn ACL he suffered in week 11 against the Bills.
In addition, the following players were full participants in practice:
- Defensive end Will Clarke (ribs)
- Cornerback Adam Jones (ankle)
- Cornerback Josh Shaw (knee)
- Offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth (biceps)
- Safety Shawn Williams (rib)
