Eric Weddle: “It is what it is,” about missing Pro Bowl 2017

Though he is ranked the #1 safety in the league, according to profootballfocus, Eric Weddle will more than likely be missing the 2017 Pro Bowl. He won’t be focused on the snub though.

“You know, it is what it is,” Eric said. “I’m not going to waste time or energy spent on something I can’t control. It’s awesome for the guys that made it. For Juice and Marshal— I mean Marshal is six times running. It’s amazing if you really think about it. And Tucker really having an outstanding season. And C.J.— just a consumate pro, he’s the natural. So I’m happy for my teammates, It’s a team game. I know how it works, I’ve been around a long time and I know what my teammates and the organization thinks of me and what I’ve brought to this team. At the end of the day that’s really all that matters.”

Eric Weddle is not in Baltimore for individual accolades; instead he brings leadership and determination for the greatest goal in football: a Lombardi trophy. I would venture to guess he’d trade all of his prior accomplishments to stand atop the podium and hoist a Super Bowl trophy in victory. Hearing him speak about his teammates when the question is about him gives you all you need to know about Eric.
