Since the start of the week, it has been well documented that the Baltimore Ravens number one ranked defense will go up against the Dallas Cowboys and its third ranked offense. The Ravens also have the number one ranked rushing defense (71.3 allowed per game) while the Cowboys have the number one ranked rushing offense (161.0 yards per game).
But according to a good number of Cowboys’ fans, they have heard this story before. They keep talking about how pundits have said that the Cowboys offense has met its match by facing defensive units such as the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals, the Green Bay Packers and the Philadelphia Eagles.
@jonmachota who remembers that packers dilemma?

It's nice that people are talking about the Ravens Defense..

But have you seen that Cowboys Offense?
@JeffDarlington remember when Cincy, Green Bay, Philly and then Pittsburgh were supposed to be his big challenge? He'll be fine.
— Ben Golan (@ben_golan) November 16, 2016
@JeffDarlington it's amazing how every week we seem to be playing the #1 defense and we go out and kick their ass.
— Alex Pacheco (@RatPac88) November 16, 2016
@JeffDarlington I think you guys just make this bull shit up. Everyone is #1 defense. Give me a break
— Alex Pacheco (@RatPac88) November 16, 2016
@RatPac88 @JeffDarlington they are the #1 defenses until they play the Cowboys.

First of all, who in the world told Cowboys’ fans that the Steelers and Bengals had good defenses this year? And have Cowboys’ fans seen how bad the Packers’ defense has looked in recent weeks? The Eagles are the only defense mentioned that is solid.
I don’t understand how Baltimore’s defense has anything to do with the way other defenses have performed against the Cowboys. Do the Ravens have defensive players who also play for the Bengals, Steelers, Packers and Eagles while nobody else is watching?
Maybe some of these Cowboys’ fans need to at the Ravens defensive statistics again since they think the Cowboys have an offense that is untouchable.
Ravens defensive stats:
- #1 in total yards allowed (281.6 pg)
- #1 in rushing yards allowed (71.3 pg)
- #1 in rushing yards per carry (3.3)
- #1 in rushing plays allowed for first downs (24)
- #1 in fewest rushing touchdowns allowed (4)
- #1 in rushing first down percentage (12.4)
- #1 in first downs allowed (14.9)
- #1 in third down defense (32 percent)
- #2 in yards per play (4.8)
- #2 in third downs allowed (39)
- #2 in interceptions ( 11)
- #3 in points allowed (17.8)
- #3 in time of possession (27.51)
- #5 in passing yards allowed (210.2)
- #5 in passing first downs allowed (97)
- #5 in passing first down percentage (31.0)
- #5 in takeaways (17)
- #5 in takeaways per game (1.9)
So all over twitter regarding this matchup between the Ravens and Cowboys, Cowboys’ fans are being confident in their team saying that the Ravens are going to get beat down.
I understand that the Cowboys are 8-1, but doesn’t it seem a bit odd for Cowboys’ fans to get arrogant towards the Ravens which is the only NFL team that Dallas has never beaten? The Ravens are 4-0 all-time vs. Dallas. As a matter of fact, the last time Dallas beat a Baltimore NFL team, you have to go back to 1981 when the Baltimore Colts were still in Baltimore.
I mean, can the Cowboys at least beat the Ravens one time before some of these Cowboys’ fans become over arrogant towards Baltimore? Just a thought. And lastly, let’s remember what happened the last time the Ravens faced the Cowboys in Texas.
Final game at Cowboys stadium. @Ravens spoiled the farewell party. #TBTNF https://t.co/VWkBhAsOqO
