Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco sat out of Thursday’s practice due to a shoulder injury that he suffered against the New York Giants last week. Flacco also sat out on Wednesday but he reiterated to the media yesterday that it was nothing to worry about.
In case Flacco doesn’t play, the Ravens are preparing like backup quarterback Ryan Mallett will play. However, despite the fact that Mallett would like to show his skills on the field, he does hope that Flacco can play as he discussed via BaltimoreRavens.com.
You have to be ready at the drop of a hat. If something happens during a game or any week of the season, you’ve always got to be ready… I hope the best for him; I hope he’s out there Sunday. As a competitor, of course I want to play, but I want what’s best for the team.”
Mallett started the last two games for the Ravens last season and the team finished 1-1 including a home win that concluded a season sweep against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
