QB Joe Flacco dealing with shoulder injury, Chance to play up in the air

NFL: Baltimore Ravens at New York Giants Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

The Baltimore Ravens have shared what injury their quarterback is currently dealing with that caused him to miss Tuesday’s practice.

Apparently, Joe Flacco is dealing with a shoulder injury according to an MRI and has a chance to play Sunday against the New York Jets.

While this isn't particularly great news, it is good to hear that this isnt an extremely serious issue.

Ravens nation will certainly be singing a different tune if Ryan Mallett gets under center for the team on Sunday but for now, the fact that Flacco has a legitimate shot of playing against the Jets is good news in and of itself.

Moving forward, the offensive line will need to pick themselves up by their collective bootstraps and take more pride in protecting their franchise passer. This of course starts with players such as Ronnie Stanley and Marshal Yanda getting healthy, as well as the offensive coaches doing a better job scheming against the blitz.

We’ll see if Flacco is full go against gang green Sunday, but in the meantime just be happy that there’s a good chance he’ll tough it out through a nicked up shoulder. Otherwise, the Ravens will be heading into a pivotal matchup without their most important player on the team.
