2016 Wild Card Playoffs: Chiefs vs Texans Saturday's Early Live GameThread

The NFL postseason is upon us finally. In one of the rarer playoffs, the Baltimore Ravens aren't involved, so we are left looking at the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Houston Texans. The Chiefs are on a hot streak while the Texans played in a soft division, but have J.J. Watt on defense.

The NFL postseason is upon us finally. In one of the rarer playoffs, the Baltimore Ravens aren't involved, so we are left looking at the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Houston Texans. The Chiefs are on a hot streak while the Texans played in a soft division, but have J.J. Watt on defense.

The team that loses today will be sitting at home next week while the winner will have another week of football and be one step closer to the Super Bowl. As exciting as football gets with everything on the line on every play.

Look for a defensive struggle in the first playoff game of the 2015-2016 season and enjoy!

Background: The Kansas City Chiefs are the hottest team in the NFL right now, going on a 10 game winning streak after starting the season with a 1-5 record. The Chiefs are led by the steady hand of Alex Smith, who has thrown 20 touchdowns vs. only seven interceptions. The Chiefs' ground attack is led by rookie Charcandrick West, who  has carried the ball 160 times for 634 yards and four touchdowns since Jamaal Charles went down with an injury.

The Houston Texans won the AFC South with a record of 9-7. Brian Hoyer leads the Texans' quarterbacks with 2,606 yards, 19 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. The Texans' rushing attack is led by Alfred Blue, who carried the ball 183 times for 698 yards and two touchdowns.

This is the second playoff appearance for Andy Reid's Chiefs, while Bill O'Brien's Texans have made it to the playoffs for the first time since 2012, when Gary Kubiak and Matt Schaub were in Houston.
