Arizona Cardinals surpass the New England Patriots as Super Bowl 50 favorites

It seems as though Vegas and our friends at BookMaker have figured out who will be playing in Super Bowl 50 when you look at the odds for each team to win. On the NFC side, it's the Arizona Cardinals with a +375, while the AFC holds the New England Patriots at +380. Sounds like a close game when you look at those odds.

Actually, the Cardinals have just recently dropped their odds to be the favorite to win this upcoming Super Bowl 50 over top of the New England Patriots. On Monday, the Patriots were favored to repeat with odds of +325, but clearly the public and the oddsmakers see something a little different as the week goes on.

"Despite that lopsided loss to end the season, our clients are eager to back the Cardinals to win the Super Bowl. The Seahawks have also been a popular play so we’ve dropped their odds as well. As far as the defending champs, the betting public sees a beat up, lethargic Patriots offense right now."

Here in Baltimore, it seems like Ravens fans would take literally anyone else to win the big game other than the Patriots. Even to the point of seeing the Pittsburgh Steelers or Cincinnati Bengals grab the trophy. While you can point to an AFC North affiliation, it's something that I honestly would have laughed at you 10 years ago if you said I'd be writing that statement today.

The rest of the odds are out as well and really the only other team to compare to the two favorites are the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers have seemed darn near perfect in 2015 and look to have the perfect compliment of offense and defense to get the job done. With the first round of the playoffs going on Saturday and Sunday, it'll be interesting to see how much the odds change come Monday morning.
