2016 NFL Draft: Baltimore Ravens draft order depends on Chargers and 49ers

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

After losing to the Cincinnati Bengals in the final week of the season, the Ravens went from feeling great due to sweeping a division rival and making their entry into the playoffs a little more stressed, to relieved about their draft order. At 5-11 on the season, the Ravens are currently sitting in the 7th overall spot. However, both the San Diego Chargers and San Francisco 49ers can alter that a bit.

Both the Chargers and Niners enter week 17 at 4-11 and with a win would be at the same record as the Baltimore Ravens. With the final strength of schedule figured out, the Ravens would leapfrog either team if they were to win today. That could see the Ravens go from the 7th spot, all the way to the 5th spot.

As of writing this, the San Diego Chargers are playing against the Denver Broncos and it's close. A little before halftime, the score is 6-7 with the Broncos barely in the lead. The San Francisco 49ers are doing their job as they are beating up on a St. Louis Rams team that had beaten the Seattle Seahawks in week 16 by a score of 10-6.

So now that the season is officially over for the Ravens organization, the best thing that can happen is the Chargers and Niners winning their games and putting the Ravens back inside the top-5 draft spot. A draft spot that could see top tier players like Vernon Hargreaves III, Jalen Ramsey, or even Joey Bosa if things work out well enough.
