Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. has earned Hall of Fame nod says Michael Irvin and Jerry Rice

Two Hall of Fame receivers both agree that the current Ravens receiver deserves to wear the gold jacket

While Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin both compete this weekend over the best of the best in the upcoming Pro-Bowl on Sunday, they both do agree on something specific. Steve Smith Sr., when finally done wearing cleats and a uniform should be wearing a Hall of Fame gold jacket. Both were quoted saying,

"No doubt I see him there. He's an incredible player, he's been an incredible player for a long time. There's no doubt in my mind that, one day, he shall definitely wear a gold jacket."  - Irvin on Steve Smith Sr.

That's a guy I feel is going to be a Hall of Famer, I just love watching him whenever he puts that football uniform on."  - Jerry Rice on Steve Smith Sr.

It shouldn't be much of a question, as Steve Smith Sr.'s stats are marvelous.

11th in receiving yards all time - 13,932 yds.

15th in receptions all time - 961

84 total touchdowns in his career.

The man has 2,000 more yards than Michael Irvin, but he doesn't have a Super Bowl championship, and the voters do take that into consideration. Hopefully though, with Agent 89 coming back for one final season, fans everywhere can celebrate Steve Smith Sr. raising the Lombardi trophy.
