In a down year for the Baltimore Ravens, most of us do not expect too many Ravens in the Pro Bowl. The Ravens usually do get a pass rusher into the big game, but with perennial stud Terrell Suggs going down in week 1, his partner in crime Elvis Dumervil was the subject of constant attention and double teams.
While Dumveril had a solid season as a 3 down pass rusher and edge setter, his sack numbers suffered with the steep rise in his snap count. With Courtney Upshaw being counted on to fill the other linebacker spot with Suggs out, Dumervil only managed 6 sacks but showed a well rounded game this season.
His efforts were rewarded when the Broncos made the Super Bowl yesterday, earning Dumveril the nod to replace Denver's stud linebacker Von Miller, who now has better things to do then play in the fun yet meaningless game.
Dumervil becomes the fourth Raven to be going to the Pro Bowl this season, joining stud offensive lineman Marshal Yanda, punter Sam Koch, and long snapper Morgan Cox in Hawaii
