A surprising move if you've followed the Ravens this offseason, the Ravens have waived injured linebacker Steven Means. One of the players that was discussed frequently for what he was doing in training camp and how happy the Ravens were with him, he now finds himself out of the Ravens' good graces.
Per transaction wire, Ravens release LB Steven Means (groin) with injury settlement.

Ravens writer Ryan Mink was high on Means' ability back in June, writing "he could be the Ravens’ next pass rusher after Pernell McPhee’s departure to Chicago"
Even the Ravens brass were high on his ability way back before the NFL Draft. Harbaugh mentioned him while sitting with Ozzie Newsome and Eric DeCosta.
We have a young pass rusher – Steven Means is a guy just to throw out there – we’ll see how he does. There’s not a guy in this [press conference] that probably knows who he is except for, maybe, the four of us. He’s a guy that’s going to be interesting to see how he develops.
Despite not drafting a high profile pass rusher, Means was a topic of conversation yet again, this time from general manager Ozzie Newsome.
We still have a lot of picks to try to find someone else to add to ‘Sizz’ [Terrell Suggs], [Elvis] Dumervil and [Courtney] Upshaw and Steven Means, who I think has the ability to play good football for us this year,
With so much talent behind him, it is a shame that he got hurt and that the Ravens were unable to keep him on the roster. Hopefully for the Ravens and Means, he is able to come back when healthy.
