Will Hill is the best safety in coverage according to Pro Football Focus

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

Despite missing multiple games due to suspension from the league, the Ravens' had one of the best safeties in the game in Will Hill. PFF is taking a look at exactly how good and the findings are quite interesting.

For a strong safety, Will Hill was a bright spot for the Ravens' secondary last season. Earlier in the offseason Hill had made PFFs top 101 players, again, despite missing the first 6 games of the season for suspension. This is what they had to say about him then.

Hill doesn’t help himself with regular suspensions but he’s just so good when he plays that he keeps cracking the Top 101. This year was no different as despite playing just 724 snaps he still had sixth-highest safety grade, with a couple of really impressive outings in the playoffs. Imagine what he could do if his off-field decision making was as good as his on the field play?

Best Performance: Week 16, BLT @ HST, +2.8

Key Stat: Only graded negatively in one game.

The Ravens made the smart move in locking Hill up for an additional season recently. His new contract is 2 years and a little over $7 million with a $3.5 million signing bonus. Looking at how he is grading out, it appears to be another classic Ozzie Newsome steal.
