We all knew that Carl Davis did just more than 'hold his own' against the Broncos last week. The rookie dominated, and looked like he had been a member of the Baltimore line for years. While he certainly passed the eye test of fans everywhere, rankings from Pro Football Focus really put his performance into perspective.
Your NFL career is off to a good start when you rank just below JJ Watt. @Carldavis94 No 2 pass rusher among 3-4 DEs pic.twitter.com/xVorueAmxn

Yep, that's right. Amongst 3-4 Defensive Ends, Davis was second-best to only J.J. Watt in Week 1. Pretty impressive for a guy who wasn't even supposed to play a significant amount of snaps this year. This young Baltimore defensive line isn't even in its prime yet, but the group of Brandon Williams, Timmy Jernigan, and now Davis could dominate for years to come. While Baltimore is renowned for excellent linebackers, defensive linemen could become the team's new hallmark.
One thing is for sure, Davis was an absolute draft steal. The guy had undisputed Top-50 talent, yet fell to the Ravens all the way at Pick 90. I'm sure that when we look back a few years from now, teams will be scratching their heads and wondering why they didn't take Davis.
