Mitchell & Ness took a look at each number in the NFL throughout it's history to compile the best player to wear each jersey number. With the season under way tonight with the Steelers facing off against the Patriots, it is a good look at the history of the game.
As expected, the Ravens have a guy worthy of such an honor. Ray Lewis and his number 52 will forever be enshrined as the best player in that number and as one of the best linebackers in the history of the game.
While no other Ravens make the list, there are a few that I'm sure were in the conversation when choosing the final selections. Ed Reed is a sure-fire Hall of Fame player wearing the number 20. With Barry Sanders and his Detroit Lions jersey taking that spot, few could argue against that choice. Jonathan Ogden would have locked up the number 75 if it weren't for 'Mean' Joe Greene.
What other Ravens do you think should be on this list?
