The cuts continue to come to lower the roster number to 75 players. CB Tramain Jacobs, was first, and now we have 6 ore names added to the list.
The Ravens’ cuts so far are:
G/T Marcel Jones (Louisiana-Monroe)
G Leon Brown (Alabama)
WR DeAndre Carter (Sacramento State)
P Justin Manton (Louisiana Monroe)
WR Aldrick Robinson (Southern Methodist)
LS Patrick Scales (Utah State)
WR Trent Steelman (Army)
CB Tramain Jacobs (Texas A&M)
Most of these players were longshots, with Carter the only one who was thought to have a real chance at one point. Carter was unable to lock up the returner job, and misplayed several kicks. His play at wide receiver did not stand out. With the Ravens having a tight race at wide receiver, Carter would have had to lock down the returner battle, and he was unable to do so.
Although the returner job is still unsettled, the Ravens clearly had eliminated Carter from the competition. He had stopped receiving reps at the position long before the 3rd preseason game.
Most of the rest of the transactions from the Ravens will likely be moving players on to injured reserve.
