2015 NFL Power Rankings #20: New York Giants

It might've been four years since 2011, but this team is nowhere near ready to take on the Patriots.

2014 Record: 6-10

Losses: Antrel Rolle, Walter Thurmond, Stevie Brown

Signings: Shane Vereen, Dwayne Harris, Marshall Newhouse, George Selvie, Kenrick Ellis, Jonathan Casillas, J.T. Thomas, James Jones

Draft Class: Ereck Flowers, Landon Collins, Owamagbe Odighizuwa, Mykkele Thompson (IR), Geremy Davis, Bobby Hart

Questions:

Can the Giants offensive line protect Eli?

What will Victor Cruz look like after he returns?

When will Jason Pierre Paul return?

Can the Giants defensive line be effective?

Defense:

This is where the Giants need better play. The Giants were abysmal against the run in 2014 and they need young players like Jay Bromley, Damontre Moore, Jonathan Hankins, and Owamagbe Odighizuwa to step up, especially with Jason Pierre-Paul absent. The Giants have some talent in the secondary with Prince Amukamara and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie at cornerback and Landon Collins at safety. The Giants brought back Steve Spagnuolo to be the defensive coordinator and they hope that he can bring back the old Giants defenses.

Offense:

The Giants should be good on offense if their offensive line can get it's act together. The Giants have Odell Beckham Jr., who makes amazing catches for fun and if Victor Cruz doesn't have complications with his injury, the Giants might have the best wide receiver duo in the NFL. Rueben Randle and James Jones give the Giants some solid reserve players. The Giants also have a nice committee rushing attack with Andre Williams, Rashad Jennings, and they have a quality pass catching back with Shane Vereen. Eli should have another good year in 2015.

Best Case Scenario:

The Giants offensive line finally comes together, the defense can stay healthy and stop the run, and the Giants sneak back into the playoffs.

Worst Case Scenario:

The Giants offensive line still can't play, the defense can't stay healthy, and the Giants continue to be a below average team.

Predictions:

Odell Beckham Jr. plays 16 game and gets the Triple Crown.

Victor Cruz wins Comeback Player of the Year.

Andre Williams has 1,000 yards rushing and 8 Touchdowns.

Wins:

Washington Redskins (Twice), Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New York Jets, New England Patriots

Losses:

Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys (Twice), New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings

Predicted Record: 8-8
