Back up tight end fighting for a roster spot is currently in surgery now for what seems to be a broken ankle. A very unfortunate end for a player so very early in the season
Harbaugh said tight end Allen Reisner broke ankle. In hospital now having surgery.

While tough and upsetting to hear about regarding any Baltimore or NFL player the silver lining is he will not be fighting for a roster spot with either an injury settlement or placement on the PUP (Player unable to perform) list. With this Reisner can heal up and cash a paycheck.
Reisner in the pre-season game did have a single tackle on special teams, but otherwise very ineffective as the tight end depth for Baltimore this season is clearly apparent after one game.
This truly is lucky as the third string TE for the Ravens Nick Boyle was passed to seven times and securing 4 catches and 25 yards. With Boyle receiving so many snaps it is glaringly obvious that Reisner would not have made the final roster for Baltimore. Hopefully Reisner can heal up well and play on the gridiron next season.
