Elliott Harrison over at nfl.com released updated power rankings for all 32 teams on Tuesday, and the Baltimore Ravens came in 13th. For the rest of the AFC North Teams, the Steelers came in 9th, the Bengals 10th, and the Browns 30th. If you would like to see the full list, you can find that here.
Here is what Harrison had to say about the Ravens:
Baltimore might be the one team people are forgetting about, given that most prognosticators see the AFC North coming down to the Steelers and Bengals. Even with Haloti Ngata in Detroit, there is so much young talent on the Ravens' defense that it should be the best unit in the division. The real question lies with the youth in the passing game. How pro-ready will rookies Breshad Perriman and Maxx Williams be?
Harrison had some nice words to say about the Ravens. I agree with him, I think many people are sleeping on them coming into this year. However, I take issue with the Ravens being ranked 13th. I think they are much higher, to be honest. I think the Ravens are arguably one of the best teams in the AFC. I think they are on par with teams such as Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, etc. In addition, teams such as the Eagles and the Lions were slotted ahead of them.
In my opinion, the Ravens don't really have any major question marks across the board. The only one would be, as Harrison pointed out, Perriman and Maxx Williams adjusting to the NFL game. But overall, the Ravens are pretty strong across the board. I would definitely place them in my top 10 going into the season.
