Ravens kicking consultant by day, Evesham Township's Mayor by night. The unsung hero on Baltimore's squadron is Randy Brown. Six years after joining the Ravens as a kicking consultant during the 2008 campaign, Brown guided K Justin Tucker to become the most accurate kicker in NFL history (minimum of 100 attempts).
Adam Caplan praised Brown on ESPN's Face of the Franchise segment.
"This is going to be a surprise to some people. Let me explain this. Randy Brown is their kicking consultant. This guy has done a phenomenal job. When you look at what you did for Tucker the kicker, David Akers many years ago. But, with Justin Tucker an undrafted free agent, this guy is a superstar kicker. Really good. Sam Koch the punter, by the way, just signed a contract extension."
Tucker has connected on 97 of 108 career field goal attempts to post an 89.8 percent success rate. He entered the league in 2012 (Ravens Super Bowl XLVII-winning season), and in just three seasons, JT owns the NFL's second-most FGs made (97).
After Sam Koch inked a five-year, $16.25 million deal, the Ravens brass will itch to lock up Tucker, too. Will the once undrafted rookie want an elite contract?
