Marshal Yanda is back in town and ready to play some football, but not worried about being in the final year of his contract.
While the media, including us, have been concentrating on Yanda's contract issues, Yanda seemingly couldn't care less. With a focus on getting back onto the field and working to improve, Yanda is certainly showing the young players how a classy veteran deals with football.
I'm focused on the mandatory minicamp right now. We'll get into that when the time comes.
Even when asked if he has any pride in being one of the top offensive lines, Yanda wouldn't bite the bait and answered like a veteran.
I'm not much for words. We'll let our play do the talking in September when the games count. Obviously that is running the ball and protecting Joe [Flacco]. We'll let the pads do the talking.
That is why Yanda is easily one of my favorite players on the team. A guy that doesn't care about hype, about the money or the accolades; he just really wants to get out there and maul some poor defensive lineman. The toughest Raven proves why he is the mentally toughest as well.
