Excitement over Tight End Nick Boyle

The fifth round TE is making noise in rookie camp

John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports

Wait who? No, I'm not talking about recently drafted tight end Maxx Williams whom was taken in the 2nd round when Ozzie traded up, but instead the fifth round selection Nick Boyle from the University of Delaware. With BaltimoreRavens.com uploading a video of rookie camp highlights, maybe the prospect could become something more than a depth player.

While I did watch his combine workout, Nick appears as a multi-tool for possible NFL success. At 6'6" and 270 lbs he definitely has the frame to be a strong tight end that can handle blocking assignments and also a good route tree with some coaching. The same height as teammate Crocket Gillmore, but with 20 extra pounds to dish out blocks, Boyle could effectively be a player who will be seen lined up for the Baltimore Ravens this coming year.

This camp battle I promise will be something to look forward to. I still refuse to believe Dennis Pitta will be on the field, and with Owen Daniels following Gary Kubiak to Denver, I see Crockett, Maxx, and Nick all still in the fight until the last breath, pushing for the TE1 and TE2 slot. This could be the best camp battle this season for Baltimore.
