With the 171st overall pick the Ravens select Tight End Nick Boyle out of the University of Delaware.
The Tight End is 6'4" and 200 pounds. He ran a five second 40 at Delaware's Pro Day.
The big bodied tight end has the athleticism to be an every down player and has very good hands, so he should be a good weapon in the passing game. Boyle knows how to look for the catch and he can deliver a blow to nearby defensive backs. He knows how to work the seam and get downfield and he has shown the ability to help out a scrambling quarterback.
He is weak as a blocker however, but with Crockett Gillmore on the roster that shouldn't be a problem. He looked better in 2013 and he is a little slow out of his breaks.
This is the second tight end the Ravens have selected in this draft, which could be a sign on how they view Dennis Pitta in 2015.
