Ravens waive cornerback Victor Hampton

A day after his arrest was reported, the Ravens cut the young corner.

The Ravens sure didn't take long to react.

A day after it was reported that reserve cornerback Victor Hampton was arrested and charged for a DWI in North Carolina, the Ravens announced that he's been waived from the offseason roster. Though Hampton wasn't expected to do anything more than participate during offseason activities and training camp, this can be chalked up to a serious opportunity squandered for the NFL hopeful.

Hampton initially signed with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent out of South Carolina but ended his 2014 season as a member of the Giants' practice squad. However, the Giants elected not to sign him to a reserve/futures deal.

According to Charlotte's WSOC TV, Hampton was charged with a DWI after being pulled over for going 100 mph in a 55 mph zone.

The report also states that a trooper noticed two passengers hiding firearms as he approached the vehicle.
