If the Ravens are looking for someone to fill Torrey Smith's role on offense, there may not be a better option in this year's draft class than Ohio State's Devin Smith.
Devin Smith has great straight-line speed and was primarily a vertical threat at Ohio State. At 6-1, 197 pounds, his frame is similar to Torrey Smith. Devin Smith's recent pro day received favorable reviews, with Smith showing off other attributes that have possibly catapulted him into the first round. SB Nation's Dan Kadar is certainly a believer, mocking Devin Smith to the Ravens at 26th overall.
Here's why:
"If there is a run on wide receivers that takes Strong off the board, Baltimore could target a player like Smith. He was used mostly as a vertical threat at Ohio State but showed during Senior Bowl practices that he's capable of much more."
The Ravens could use a young, high-caliber receiver that can do work on the outside. Devin Smith would certainly fit that bill and be a quality option to take.
