Victor Hampton may have just squandered an opportunity with the Ravens.
With the organization taking a stronger stance on off-field behavior this offseason, Hampton, a cornerback signed to a reserve/futures deal earlier this offseason could see his roster status in doubt. According to Charlotte's WSOC TV, Hampton was charged with a DWI after being pulled over for going 100 mph in a 55 mph zone.
The report also states that a trooper noticed two passengers hiding firearms as he approached the vehicle.
A year ago, five Ravens players were arrested during the offseason. Hampton, albeit a fringe player to begin with, marks the first of this offseason. Given the public relations nightmare the organization endured a year ago, this won't be taken lightly inside the organization.
Hampton was a camp body to begin with, though a practice squad opportunity wouldn't have been out of the question. He went undrafted in 2014 out of South Carolina and spent time with the Bengals and Giants this past season. It's very likely that Hampton will be looking for a fourth team to try and become accustomed to soon.
