Baltimore Ravens quarterback Matt Schaub still hurt, backup QB Clausen might play against Seahawks

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Matt Schaub took a lot of hits against the Miami Dolphins to the extent where he was holding his head and his shoulder towards the end of the game. Late in the fourth quarter, there was speculation on whether or not he would return to the game and he did. With Schaub still nursing his injuries, backup quarterback Jimmy Clausen is taking a lot snaps this week.

If Clausen does get the start this week as the Ravens host the Seattle Seahawks, it could be a nice audition for him especially if he performs well against a Seahawks defense that is ranked second in the NFL and is also the same defense that shut down the Minnesota Vikings offense last week. Even if Matt Schaub were to start, the indication is that the Ravens might cycle through both quarterbacks regardless, potentially opening up a quarterback controversy in week 14 of the NFL season.

Injuries have been the norm for the Ravens this season, but it creates an opportunity for players on the roster like Clausen to gain more experience. But at the same time, if Clausen does start this week, playing a surging Seahawks defense isn't exactly ideal for anybody especially when they are playing for a postseason spot.
