Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco took to his Facebook page to talk for the first time since he was placed on injured reserve. After tearing his ACL and MCL against the St. Louis Rams, the Ravens were without their ironman quarterback for the first time in 8 years, pushing fans to wonder how their franchise quarterback was doing.
Flacco used his Facebook account to thank fans for their concern and well wishes on a speedy recovery. He also mentioned that due to modern medicine and his work ethic, he should be back in no time.
Flacco is right that with hard work through his rehab process, he should be able to come back by at least the first week of the NFL season. However, with an injury to the ligaments, timelines range anywhere from 9 months to a full year before the quarterback could be able to play his first down of football. After a poor performance by backup quarterback Matt Schaub on Monday night against the Cleveland Browns, fans will be hoping that Flacco can be at the short end of the timeline.
