TheNFL is now in the 14th week, and with it come the Power Rankings. Always an enjoyable list, even when your team isn't exactly amazing as you still get to argue where specific teams deserve which slot. Once again, I very much enjoy the reddit.com/r/nfl power rankings list as a guide. The writing is always a good piece, and I agree with them the most.
- Carolina Panthers - A near unstoppable force with Luke Kuechly & Cam Newton leading both sides of this squad to victory punished to division rival 38-0 this week. But now are looking to face the New York Giants, whom have a nack for crushing dreams.
- Arizona Cardinals - Dwight Freeney dominating the edge once more in his career sealed $200 thousand with the strip/sack. Officially clinching play-offs, the Cardinals look poised to enter the post-season with a healthy QB.
- New England Patriots - A patch-work O-line punished a broken-handed J.J. Watt, but Jadeveon Clowney ran free for 2 sacks and 7 total sacks. Nonetheless they leave with two victories. The win itself, and a healthy Rob Gronkowski once more.
- Seattle Seahawks - There are teams that heat up at the right moments (Baltimore 2012), and then there is this bonfire team which absolutely nobody wants to face. Wilson has connected with Doug Baldwin 12 times the past two games, and six have them been touchdowns. The team did lose the rising star Thomas Rawls to a season ender at M&T Bank though. Nonetheless, Cleveland is coming to the Emerald City, to help keep the inferno stoked.
- Denver Broncos - A bad game by the Broncos has kick started the Manning talks here in Colorado by a lot of fans, but Manning couldn't force Demaryius Thomas to use his hands, nor Vernon Davis to stop body-catching after 10 years. Brock Osweiler played a great game, and it would have been even better had the veteran receivers decided to wear bricks for hands.
- Pittsburgh Steelers
- Cincinnati Bengals
- Green Bay Packers
- Kansas City Chiefs
- Minnesota Vikings
- New York Jets
- Buffalo Bills
- New York Giants
- Philadelphia Eagles
- Oakland Raiders
- Washington Redskins
- Houston Texans
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Indianapolis Colts
- Chicago Bears
- Jacksonville Jaguars
- New Orleans Saints
- Miami Dolphins
- St. Louis Rams
- Atlanta Falcons
- Detroit Lions
- Dallas Cowboys
- San Francisco 49ers
- Baltimore Ravens
- Cleveland Browns
- Tennessee Titans
- San Diego Chargers
The bottom at this point is what the Baltimore Ravens are checking out. The competition is fierce, with the San Los Diego Angeles Chargers fighting their own adversity while still playing, and doing a terrible job of it. The Tennessee Titans who now have the QB they want, alas, no pieces surrounding him just yet. Cleveland doing their best impression of Cleveland.
Between these three and Baltimore, THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE! But at this point, you do want to be rooting for the Titans, Chargers, and Browns. Ozzie with draft stock is more powerful than the wizard of Oz himself.
The Ravens upcoming game is against the red hot Kansas City Chiefs, whom have won 7 straight games. At this point the Ravens were just hoping to not draw Alabama, but they drew an NFL team instead. Maybe the loss of 17 players to IR will put the Chiefs defense in such a confusion they forgot they need to block the actual healthy players on the field.
