Baltimore Ravens rookie Javorius Allen nominated for NFL's Pepsi Rookie of the Week Award for week 13

On the back of a great performance, the NFL has put up fellow rookie Javorius Allen for the Pepsi Rookie of the Week Award. Against the Miami Dolphins, Allen would rush for 63 yards on 17 carries, but more importantly would catch 12 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown. The 12 receptions put him just 2 shy of breaking the Baltimore Ravens single-game franchise record and places him in the third spot on the list behind Steve Smith Sr. and Priest Holmes.

In a lost season, we forget just how good the Baltimore Ravens draft has been. Through injuries, we've sadly had to see more rookie players than was expected way back in training camp, but those young players have panned out nicely this season. The Ravens lost rookie tight end Nick Boyle to a suspension earlier this week, but Boyle was playing like a veteran out there and making a name for himself as a guy who could do whatever the Ravens needed of him.

Allen's biggest moment was a 41-yard reception that he took to the house to put the Ravens back into the game. Showing strength, agility, and speed after the catch, Allen would make three Dolphins players miss.

If that type of performance isn't worthy of an award, I don't know what is. Go on over to the NFL's site to vote for your very own Rookie of the Week (it better be Buck Allen).
