Ravens add 2 to the active roster, including fan favorite Daniel Brown

The Ravens this season have suffered injuries all across the roster, but have been hit particularly hard at positions like offensive line and wide receiver. The team has cycled through players, and currently have 3 of their top 4 players at wide receiver on injured reserve, along with starting Center Jeremy Zuttah. They also currently have both starters on the left side of the line out, with starting left guard Kelechi Osemele dealing with a leg injury and left tackle Eugene Monroe dealing with a shoulder issue.

Last week, the Ravens started second year G-C John Urschel at Center, and third year backup Ryan Jensen at left guard. Backup tackle James Hurst replaced Monroe during the game. The Ravens have promoted guard Kaleb Johnson todayto the active roster for tonights matchup with the Browns, since both Monroe and Osemele are doubtful.

In addition, the Ravens added pre-season hero Daniel Brown to the active roster at wide receiver. Brown had a blocked punt in the preseason which was recovered for a touchdown, along with several nice catches late in games, although it was done mostly against 3rd down defenses. Marlon Brown is doubtful, so there is actually a chance the 6"5 Brown gets some targets behind Kamar Aiken and Chris Givens. He showed some chemistry with Schaub in the preseason,

Time will tell whether either of these players are part of the future, but with the team in evaluation mode for the rest of the season, it would make sense to see what these 2 bring to the table.

The Ravens cut wide receiver Chuck Jacob, and moved tight end Chase Ford (shoulder) to injured reserve to make room on the roster. Ford becomes the 17th Raven placed on IR in 2015.
