Ravens sign Marcel Jones to the practice squad, release Daniel Brown

The Ravens have been shuffling their roster of late, and the next victim of late was WR Daniel Brown, who was let go for offensive lineman Marcel Jones.

Brown, who became a preseason fan-favorite after making some fantastic catches in preseason, couldn't stick around on the roster after missing the final cuts of the preseason. He has been on and off the Ravens' practice squad ever since then, and hasn't found a way to get on the active roster, despite the many troubles at receiver this year.

The newest Raven brings something to the table that the team needs. That would be depth on the offensive line. The team has been riddled with injuries on the front line this year, with center Jeremy Zuttah out with a torn pectoral, and left tackle Eugene Monroe seemingly out every other week.

Jones is a fourth-year tackle out of Nebraska. He was originally drafted by the Saints in the seventh round of 2012's draft, but he was relegated to the practice squad after suffering a knee injury in his rookie season. He eventually fell out of favor with the Saints after another practice squad stint and was released in 2014. He has been in and out of the Ravens' organization over the past couple seasons, and was released just last week before being resigned.
