For those of us waiting to see who the Ravens added to the roster to backup new starter Matt Schaub, we did not have to wait long. The Ravens, with a high priority waiver claim grabbed former Notre Dame and Bears QB Jimmy Clausen off waivers:

Clausen played for current Ravens offensive coordinator Marc Trestman for the past two years as a backup to Jay Cutler, getting one start for the Bears last season. Clausen played decently in that start, a 20-14 loss to the Detroit Lions, accumulating 182 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception on 33 attempts. Clausen has 5 touchdowns to 11 interceptions across 19 games in 6 seasons, 12 of them starts. He is 1-11 in games he has started
In the corresponding move, the Ravens officially moved franchise quarterback Joe Flacco to injured reserve.
