Eugene Monroe injury: Tackle replaced by James Hurst due to shoulder injury

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

As the game and season wears down, the Ravens continue to pile up additional injuries. In the first half, it was running back Justin Forsett with his broken arm, now we are getting word that left tackle Eugene Monroe is out for the remainder of the game with a shoulder injury.

This has become a regular occurrence for the Ravens and Monroe this season, having missed 4 games and coming out of several others due to injuries. In comes backup left tackle James Hurst, who has been graded previously by Pro Football Focus as the worst left tackle in the league currently.

With the injury to Monroe, the Ravens are missing their entire left side of the line. Baltimore put center Jeremy Zuttah on injured reserve earlier this week, ending his season and putting in John Urschel. Just today, the Ravens put left guard Kelechi Osemele on the inactives list for the game due to an injury as well.

The Ravens have had to keep in tight ends and running backs to help Flacco stay upright with limited success. With Monroe missing even more time, the coaches have to be wondering what they will do in the offseason with their oft-injured left tackle.

Hopefully for the Ravens, they can stay away from any more injuries today and get guys healthy for the following weeks.
