Oakland Raiders add former Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Jeremy Ross

One man's trash is another man's treasure. The Oakland Raiders have added former Ravens receiver and return specialist Jeremy Ross to their practice squad. With the suspension of Aldon Smith for a year, the Raiders had some space available, allowing the Raiders to pick up the former Raven.

Jeremy Ross had done well for the Baltimore Ravens through the first 8 games of the season before being waived on Tuesday along with cornerback Asa Jackson. While Ross did little as a receiver for the Ravens, only catching 9 balls for 88 yards, his best work came on special teams where he answered one of the bigger questions the Ravens had during training camp.

As a kick returner, Ross put together 7 returns for 205 yards or a 29.3 yard average. On punts, Ross had 10 returns for 109 yards. The biggest issue for Ross was the fumbles and occasional bad decisions that put the Ravens at a disadvantage. With the surprising play by running back Raheem Mostert as a kick returner, a final fumble by Jeremy Ross against the Jaguars was enough to seal his fate.

Hopefully being on the practice squad for a bit will allow Ross to figure out his fumbling issue and come back stronger than before.
